(kwijibo noted the admin interface would be interesting - allowing users to define their own stores - but I suggested just making a one-off dedicated store to start with)

[edit] Intro Chat
kwijibo: danja: can you explain a bit more about this one: Typical storefront app, along the lines of the J2EE Pet Store http://java.sun.com/blueprints/code/ ?
danja: right...
kwijibo: is it/do you mean an e-commerce framework application for people to use, or a sample app for people to look at?
danja: either/both!
kwijibo: (or something else altogether)
danja: I've not looked at Pet Shop for years, but there are two e-commerce setups I use a lot
kwijibo: I think it sounds interesting
danja: amazon and http://www.thomann.de/gb
kwijibo: I've not heard of an e-commerce thingummy using RDF - any precedents ?
danja: not that I know of
kwijibo: the really interesting thing would be the admin section
danja: not easy!
kwijibo: providing an interface for store owners to pick/choose/create their vocabularies
kwijibo: to make up the project descriptions
danja: I'd start simpler - just do a one-off
kwijibo: could do
danja: I can't remember seeing a decent vocab for products - I reckon it'd have to be a similar shape to frbr
kwijibo: I think a music store would be a good bet
danja: as in tunes?
kwijibo: or CDs
kwijibo: because you can import metadata as required from musicbrainz
danja: right, already you've got the split between works & manifestations (or whatever - I've not really internalised frbr yet...)
danja: good idea
kwijibo: like, you can use their API for the owner to search for albums
danja: I like that, it's using the web angle
kwijibo: and when s/he finds the album, s/he can add store specific product data
kwijibo: exactly like you say - the frbr-esque split
danja: tell you what, I'll make a page on the wiki for brainstorming
kwijibo: sounds good
danja: dunno what kind of time you (or I) would have for this - Henry Story showed interest too, but I do think it's pretty important
danja: could also be a first!
